Cinder the Bubble-Blowing Dragon

Story Summary:
Cinder is a popular dragon with one small problem. Instead of fire, Cinder breathes bubbles. While the king searches for a fire-breathing dragon for his palace, Cinder is sidelined. But, can the bubble-blowing dragon save the day?
Learning Objective:
The students will use records and graphs of seasonal temperature changes, learn how to read from an actual thermometer, and color the paper thermometer to a temperature mark.
Materials:
worksheets of dragons- Freezing dragon, Room temperature dragon, Boiling Hot dragon
cup of ice
cup of water (room temperature)
hot water
thermometers
red crayons
Procedure:
Read the story. Discuss temperature. Use a thermometer to measure the ice, and both cups of water (Teacher must not let the children get near the hot water.)
Pass around the thermometers to show how high the red is in each one. Students will color the thermometers correctly on the worksheets.
